Smoothies for dummies

Alright my blog stalker friends.  Bombard me with your favorite smoothie recipes?  I've got this new blender and the only smoothies I have made so far are just frozen fruit and milk (and maybe yogurt).

So tell me- what is your favorite GREEN smoothie?  I've been hearing a lot of people talk about them and how yummy and good they are but there are so many variations out there I don't know where to start.  :)

What else do you like to put in your smoothie?

  1. From my restaurant...

Verry Berry- Apple Juice, Strawberry, Blueberry
Berry Dreams -Cranberry Juice, Strawberry, Blueberry
Peach Pineapple Plunge - Pineapple Juice, Peaches, Mango
Synful Sweetness - Skim Milk, Banana, Honey
Chai Strength - Oregon Chai, Soy Milk, Banana
Peanut Butter Cup - Skim Milk, Banana, Peanut Butter, Chocolate Syrup
Banana Bunch - Apple Juice, Banana, Peaches
Mango Mania - Mango, Pineapple Juice, Banana
Mocha Madness - Skim Milk, Banana, Espresso, Chocolate Syrup
George’s Post Work Out Tonic- Myoplex, Skim Milk, Blueberry, Banana, Honey

  2. I haven't found a green smoothie that I have liked.....sorry

I just put orange juice, plain yogurt, frozen strawberries, and frozen peaches in my blender.....sometime I will add protein powder, or even flax seeds....

  3. It isn't so much a green smoothie as it is just a general fruit, but it does have greens in it!

I put about a cup of water in along with a ton of spinach ( blend it up and you can't taste it). Mix that up well, and then add a frozen berry mix (about 3/4 cup), pineapple, peaches, strawberries, banana, or whatever frozen fruit you might have. Blend and enjoy. I have it every morning and knock my 5 servings of fruit out for the day bright and early!

  4. I LOVE green smoothies and Justin, GWEN and I have all been having them for breakfast for the last week or so. We do a variation of kale or spinach, with fruit. You'll want to put some ice in and if you need it to be a little more moist, I add a little lite soy milk. You could also use skim milk if that's what you're into. If you have a good blender or juicer it should be yummy and not grainy. We have been eating these up. Also, another favorite of mine is to put in about half a lime or lime juice. The tartness goes great along with the fruit and covers up the 'green' if you can't handle it. Hope you like it.
